Internet Online Alert
The carpet cleaning business has earned a reputation as
a business that baits and switches with regards to the
prices. Let us explain why this happens and how you can
avoid it. To begin with, when you call to have your carpets
cleaned you are talking to someone who hasn't seen your
carpets. They don't have a clue as to the condition of the
carpet unless you the customer inform them.
Now the person who is asked to provide you with a price can
only give a ball park figure. Even the prices given here are
prices that are for a basic steam cleaning and extraction.
Herein lies the problem. Oftentimes the technician arrives
to find a job that requires additional cleaning efforts and
solutions that are costly and exceed the original price that
has been given.
Contrary to other companies, our technicians are ordered to
only advise you of what would be needed to best clean your
carpet or upholstery. They are not allowed to push products
or "up-sale" you so that your $49.95 job becomes a $250 job
for no good reason. We are sure that you are going to find
that our technicians are knowledgeable and will only
recommend effective cleaning for the best results. You can
also simply stick with the basic cleaning that has been
quoted to you.
Many carpet-cleaning companies pride themselves on getting
the customer for as much as they can. We believe one should
only charge what one is willing to pay. While there are many
shady carpet outfits, there is also a justification for the
increase in price that you might experience when getting
your carpets or upholstery serviced.
Many people don't call until their carpets or upholstery is
in dire need. The price given over the phone or on-line is a
basic cleaning based on average dirt. If the carpet hasn't
been cleaned in years and is white it is fair to say that
the price given doesn't include the additional cleaning
solutions needed to complete the job. You can still stay
with the basic cleaning but it might not suffice. Also, pet
odor removal, Teflon Stain Guard, carpet sanitizing and
deodorizing are other options that cost a little more but
can be a very good investment for you.
There are carpet companies that are out to get you and if we
were one of them we wouldn't let you know how it is done.
Here is an example of how you the consumer can be more aware
of the "game". Let's say you received an advertisement that
offers to clean any room for $6. Well, the technician who
arrives at your place is a hired gun; that is, he is a
trained salesman who is going to do his very best to close
the deal at around $200, even though he knocked on the door
for $6 per room.
He has been hired by the carpet company to "up-sale" the
customers and each job is supposed to average out to around
$200 dollars. Usually the tactics used are pushy and the
emphasis is put on "Deep Scrub" and the various cleaning
solutions within his possession. What makes his case even
more strong is that there could be some credibility to his
reasoning as to why you should pay more for your cleaning
services. It is possible that you do have trouble spots that
justify a slight price increase.
If you are dealing with a good carpet cleaner who is also
good at sales, he will offer you 3 prices. You are still
offered the $6 per room that made you respond in the first
place, but you are told that the job may or may not get the
job done for that price. Then you are offered a much larger
amount that includes every cleaning solution and sanitizer
in his possession.
So, let's say you are interested in having 3 rooms and a
hall cleaned. The coupon said any room for $6. That means
you can get the job done for $18 right? Well sort of. You
will be hit with another price of around $200 and then the
carpet technician will let you talk him down to $100, which
is the middle price that he wanted all along.
Don't be suckered by these tricks. Let our technicians tell
you exactly what is needed to do the job and perform the
tasks in a professional manner. We hope you reward our
honesty by calling us today! Call 877.301.4539 |

Hello and thanks for visiting our
site. Here is where you will learn things that other carpet
cleaning companies don’t want you to know about.
First,
you must be aware that if you found us through a search
engine, you were not looking at a bunch of websites that
were not related. Those were the days. Each website
independently owned by different people.
Now,
when you do a search for “carpet cleaning,” you are looking
at one small group of people who desire to control all of
the positions available. In other words, a person went out
and got a few of his buddies and they put up websites so
they would dominate and fully control carpet cleaning
on-line.
After a
year of trying to compete with them I have decided to do
something I know they are going to hate, and that is to
simply inform the public of what is really going on.
How do
we know the same people are responsible for most of the
carpet cleaning websites? For one, the same voices answer
the phones when you call. But the real proof is that they
don’t give out the name of an actual company! As a consumer
you should never do business with a company that doesn’t
give out a name.
They
answer the phones by saying “Carpet Care” or “Service” or
“Carpet Cleaning”. Anything but an actual name of a company.
I am sure that you as a consumer will see this as a boiler
room operation upon experiencing it.
Don’t
do business with a company that can’t answer the phone in
its company name. Another thing that we noticed is that they
put hyphens in-between each word in their domain name. Since
they copied existing sites we were no exception. Either they
put “LA” somewhere in there domain name, or they outright
download our website and use it as there own. (How do you
spell “l-a-w-s-u-it.com?)
If you
see a site with “-“ or “LA” in the domain name it is the
same group of wannabees.
When
they outright downloaded the real
www.LosAngelesCarpets.com
they gave it a very goofy new name that speaks for itself:
www.carpetscleanings.com
I guess some never quite master the English language. (They
copied our site, I wonder if this new content will qualify
to be copied. Hurry and see their site so you can see what
this page use to look like before they copy again)
Now is
that silly or are we just being biased? You be the judge and
don’t forget to how they answer the phone. Heck, the phones
all go to the same answering machines at the end of the day!
Now
regarding the websites that don’t have “LA” or hyphens in
the domain names. About half of these sites have been around
on-line for as long as we have and a couple even a little
longer.
Los
Angeles Carpets and a couple of the other sites are American
owned and have been on deck for over 5 years, while the rest
are brand new in business and also related to the same
garbage mentioned above. What’s in a domain name? Your
common sense for one. Now let your eyes decide in which of
the two look legit: LosAngelesCarpets.com or something close
like los-angeles-carpets-.com?
Here is
a hint, one is not even a year old as of this consumer
information update. (5.30-06)
Lets
recap:
Don’t
do business with those who answer the phones “Carpet
Cleaning” or anything like that. They are the same people.
Look
out for the famous “-“ hyphen or “LA” in the domain name so
you know you are dealing with the same set of people.
Only
half of the sites that don’t have “LA” or a “-“ are
individually owned. Call after hours and you’ll notice the
phones go to the same answering machines with the same
voices with the same accents. That is as concrete as it gets
folks.
Avoid
wannabees with LA in the domain name or copycats, most
people don’t want copycats they want the real deal.
This
information definitely helps to provide you the consumer
with a heads up and insight into what is really going on.
Stay tuned because reporting their behavior to the general
public might be an on-going thing. We hope you reward our honesty by calling us today! Call
